It should draw you in
and ask you what appeals to you. Ever since
I can remember, I have been drawn first to
the face. I stayed there for many years searching
to render it until I became aware of color,
another frontier. Teaching art has helped me
to learn even more than I could have imagined. It is not about giving
a formula, it’s
more of a spiritual journey. Whatever issue
one is dealing with in their life, the process
of art will personify that point or awareness.
If one surrenders oneself to the process and
builds a strong set of tools, then they just
need to show up and be present. It’s
one canvas after another.
